Künna by Karla is commited to Prevent, Reduce, Upcycle, Recycle Holiday Waste and encourage Donations and Sustainable decor by assisting our clients in different ways before any of these items end up in a Landfill.
How do we do it?
PREVENT. Whenever you request our Shopping services, please know besides comparing all product aspects; Quality, Materials, overall Size and most importantly, Price, we also look for items that can with stand the "test of time" style & quality wise. Sometimes people believe they must buy brand new ornaments to refresh the look when a more affordable and environmentally friendly solution can be to incorporate a couple of items and placing the decor differently. This prevents clients getting rid of a larger amount of items that are still in good shape but they simply don't know how to make the most out of it. We are always proud to fulfill our commitment to the Environment and helping our clients save money in the process.
REDUCE. Buying less is better than buying green; Do you ever wonder what does that mean during the Holidays? Sometimes you think is inevitable to buy something, or you believe in order to achieve the look you are going for you must buy X amount of items. Before that happens, we can show you how to tie together new and old items to complement eachother and at the same time, repurpose certain items or materials. This practice helps avoid buying unnecessary items and ultimately a reduced consumption of overall decor. After all, being environmentally friendly is not only placing items in recycling bin and wishing it can be recycled, but also, not purchasing certain items or products in the first place.
UPCYCLE. If you are doubting if some items have potencial for upcycling, let us know during our initial concept meeting or at any other time and we can always discuss it further. There are instances when upcycling items become creatively challenging, but if you are up for the challenge we are happy to either assist you with a fun DIY project or we can do it for you!
DONATIONS. If you need help sorthing out items and deciding what to Donate, we can assist you at an hourly rate of $25 dlls. You can schedule this service any time of the year for a minimum of 3 hrs. If you need help dropping off items at the Donation Center afterwards, we offer a complimentary drop off trip to the Donation Center of your choice.

According to PSSI / Standford University Recycling Land, Buildings & Real Estate article, they explain during the winter holiday season Americans throw away 25% more trash during the Thanksgiving to New Year's holiday period than any other time of year. The extra waste amounts to 25 million tons of garbage, or about 1 million extra tons per week!
If every family reused just two feet of holiday ribbon, the 38,000 miles of ribbon saved could tie a bow around the entire planet. If every American family wrapped just 3 presents in re-used materials, it would save enough paper to cover 45,000 football fields. The 2.65 billion Christmas cards sold each year in the U.S. could fill a football field 10 stories high. If we each sent one card less, we’d save 50,000 cubic yards of paper.
