Wednesday, May 13, 2020

Today, I have learned a couple of floral arrangement techniques: Vertical Arrangements, & Color Grouping. It is certainly a very particular way of doing florals and it may seem awkward at the beginning, but while working your way, this piece will grow on you.

The image below is a bird eye look of this colorful arrangement so its easier to appreciate the Color / Grouping technique. It mostly consists in grouping the same type of flowers or fillers in one area.

The recipe for this Colorfull arrangment consisted on:

6 Stems of Orange Roses

6 Stems of Purple Liatris

3 Stems of Yellow with Dark Eye Gerbera Daisy

16 Stems of Red Carnations

10 Stems of Green Hypericum

4 Stems of Yellow Solidago

2 Stems of Seeded Eucalyptus

Liatris Spicata is also known as Blazing Star and is a beautiful purple perennia. It's grass like foliage and tall blooking spikes attract birds, bees and butterflies.

Gerbera Daisies are available in all colors of the rainbow but Blue, and it's the fifth most popular flower in the world. They are known for attracting bees and butterflies. Below you can appreciate a Yellow Gerbera Daisy with Dark Eye.

Did you know that people place Gerberas by their bed to enjoy a better sleep? Gerneras emit oxygen and absorb toxins and carbon monoxide at night instead of during the day like most flowers!
