How much does Chalk Art services Cost?

All projects are charged by an Hourly rate plus material costs. Price can range depending from the blackboard size, design, coverage, quantity and materials of your choice.

Künna By Karla also offers you complimentary home & business blackboard Pick-Up and Drop-Off, with orders over $250 within a 10 mile radius. Delivery with in the Metro Phoenix area have a $150 charge.

Do you Sell/Rent/Build Chalkboards? 

I do not Sell or Rent Chalkboards. The client must provide the chalkboard(s) for all projects unless there is a size restriction. Künna By Karla can build chalkboards but reserves the right to only build large to oversize chalkboards at a $35 hourly Carpentry labor fee, plus materials, after being hired for Chalk Art services.

Where can I find Chalkboards?

You can find all kinds of quality chalkboards at local Arts & Craft stores, Home Stores, Online, Office Supplies and Restaurant Stores. It just depends what you are looking for.

I often find good looking Chalkboards at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Pottery Barn, Amazon, Etsy, billyBoardsmfg.com, webrestaurantstore.com and Amazon just to mention a few.

Are your Chalk Art designs Waterproof or Permanent?

Depending on what you are looking for, I can use different products to achieve what you are after but so far there is not an effective product for sealing chalk. I personally like to combine different products to produce chalk effects from regular chalk, chalk pens to acrylic markers. This helps make the sign as long lasting as it can be.

What materials do you work with?
I work with Chalk, Soft Pastels, Chalk pens-markers and Acrylic markers.

What is the difference between all of the materials?

Regular Chalk and Soft Pastels: All chalk art done with regular chalk or soft pastels is not smudge nor waterproof. However, if you are careful while handling the sign can be long lasting. It is important to mention that chalk colors are basic, therefore, soft pastels can help complement color schemes although might not erase completely creating a ghosting effect.

Chalk pens and Markers: If all you need is something more smudge resistant than chalk, this might an option for you, but, please be aware these products won't erase completely creating a ghosting effect if not cleaned right away. The chalk art can be affected by water and won't have the same finished texture like regular Chalk. These type of products come in a broad variety of colors from fluorescent, neon, metallic to pastels.

Acrylic Markers: If what you are looking for is to place your blackboard in a High Traffic area and outdoors, this might be the best option for you. Acrylic markers come in a large selection of colors including metallic, pastels, neon's as well as matte, satin and eggshell finishes. This is my preferred product to outline designs since it makes it stress-free when it comes to smudge accidents and you can eventually switch up or add colors easily.
